I recently learned about a great little online shop in the UK, Suburban Turban. They have the most adorable hats and beanies, designed for women with hair loss issues. Although I am no longer bald from chemo, this sporty little cap would have been perfect for that time.

Confession: I have NO IDEA what to do with my hair. None.

Before chemotherapy, I wore my hair very short for a long time. With a few exceptions, I kept it close cut for about 15 years. I liked it because it suited my face and it was easy (and cheap) to take care of.

I don’t like beauty salons. It’s a long story.

The supporters of this movement believe that the bald doll should be created in order to support children who have lost their hair to illness or cancer treatment. And to also help children to ease their fears and concerns when someone they love loses their hair due to cancer treatment.

When people find out that they have cancer, usually one of the first thoughts they have (after wondering whether they are going to die from the disease) is… “will I lose my hair?”  I was no different. I wondered about hair loss and wondered whether or not I would feel differently about myself if I were bald. What makes all of that interesting is that I have worn my hair pretty short for quite some time now.
